Code Of Conduct
While this Code of Conduct applies specifically applies to Club members participating in Club competitions and events, members are expected to follow it whenever they play at the course and to encourage their guests to do so too.
Members of Rodway Hill Golf Club believe in providing a welcoming, safe and inclusive environment for members and their guests and for course and clubhouse staff. In this friendly setting, there is no place for discrimination based on gender, age, race, religion or belief, sexual orientation, or disability. Courtesy, integrity and the spirit of the game lie at the heart of our club’s code of conduct.
The Code of Conduct has been set by the committee and adopted this as a Permanent Local Rule as permitted by Rule 1.2b of the Rules of Golf
- GENERAL
All players are required to follow the course instructions shown at the first tee:
- Jeans are not permitted on the course
- Please keep all Buggies and Trollies away from the tees and greens and to the path provided when possible.
- All Greenstaff have priority on the golf course
- Bag sharing is NOT permitted
- Please avoid Slow Play
- ON THE COURSE
All golfers must:
2.1 Avoid slow play by following the Club guidance on Pace of Play
2.2 Adhere to the Rules of Golf, Local Rules and the General and Specific Terms of Competition.
2.3 Care for the Course by repairing pitch marks, replacing divots and raking bunkers.
2.4 Show respect towards their fellow golfers. You should not therefore be aggressive, abusive, noisy or abuse/misuse equipment.
2.5 Show respect towards employees and officials and always give greens staff priority.
2.6 Never play while under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
2.7 Respect the club’s dress code, which is appended to this Code of Conduct and forms a part of it.
2.8 Place mobile phones on silent mode unless there is an urgent need to do otherwise and your playing partners are aware of this and agreeable to it.
2.9 Arrive on time for any pre-arranged competition or roll-up start.

- OFF THE COURSE
Members are reminded of the following:
3.1 The use of foul, abusive or threatening language, adopting an aggressive manner, and harassment or intimidation of others are all forms of unacceptable behaviour.
3.2 Smoking and the use of e-cigarettes is not permitted within the Course Buildings.
3.3 They should not engage in any negative social media activity in relation to the Club or individuals who play or work at the club.
- BREACHES OF THE CODE
Any member clearly breaching this Code or engaging in other behaviour that may be detrimental to the game of golf or Rodway Hill Golf Club, is in breach of the Code of Conduct and should be reported to the Club Secretary within seven days of the breach. Reported transgressions shall be scrutinised by the Disciplinary Committee, who may take appropriate disciplinary action.
The following sanctions may be applied by the Disciplinary Committee:
- Reprimand/warning;
- Suspension from Club membership for a specified period of time;
- Suspension from specified Club activities, including competition, for a period of time or permanently;
- Expulsion from Club membership on a permanent basis;
- Forfeiture of any competition and/or other points as specified;
- Any combination of the above.
In addition to this Code of Conduct, members playing in competitions should be aware that the Handicaps and Competitions Committee have powers to sanction competitors for offences such as failing to attend a competition or arriving late for a tee time, abandoning a round, and failing to sign a scorecard.

The below images are to ensure you follow the correct dress code whilst playing at Rodway Hill and especially within Club Competitions. Failure to follow the dress rules may result in you being removed from the competition.
