Welcome members and guests to the Men’s Section of the Rodway Hill Golf Club.

I am honoured to have been elected as Club Captain for this upcoming year. Thank you to those who have put their faith in me to lead the club this year.  Thank you to the outgoing Captain Sean Bailey, as well as other directors stepping down: Harold Gurney & Rose Hook.

The Committee and I will work hard to ensure that the club continues to be the place that it is – a place where friendship and golf meet.  To this extent, I look forward to working with Alan (the Club President), Victor, Richard and his greenkeeping staff to ensuring that club and course continue to make great strides forward in the year to come.

As I said: Rodway Hill Golf Club is a place where friendship and golf meet. It is a place that I have called home for all of my golfing life, starting out as a wild swinging junior who saw all parts of the course, to the Club Captain (who still takes the scenic route) I am now.  During my time here, I have got to know people across all the sections of our club, who have taught me many things about golf and the richness of life.  I really do believe it an honour for the membership to elect me as their Captain.

The charity I’m supporting this year is Hope for Tomorrow, a charity that provides Mobile Cancer Care Units (MCCUs) in Gloucestershire as well as in other counties.  These MCCUs enable cancer patients to get treatment they need near to their doorsteps, oppose to the journey to their nearest hospital for treatment.  It is a charity that lies particularly close to my heart and it would mean a great deal to me for you to help me support it this year.

Member or guest, I hope to see you at the Golf Club this year at some point. May this golfing year be a fun one for you, wherever you play!
