Rodway Hill Golf Course is a friendly, modern and forward thinking golf complex located on the edge of the beautiful Cotswold countryside. The course has fantastic views over Gloucester and the surrounding area with much to see and discover

Rated 4* Golf Complex on GolfShake.

The Senior’s Captain for 2018 is John Lewis, ably aided by the Vice-Captain Gerry Payton.

I have been playing golf for many years at many different courses as I moved around with my job in Financial Services, now in retirement I enjoy my golf even more at this, the most friendly club I have ever played at.

The seniors section, for 55”s and over is very active, and new members are always welcome.  Our principal aim is to ensure some good golf and good company for all.

The lack of a handicap to start with is not an issue, as within a couple of weeks and three rounds under your belt you will be fully underway.

At Rodway there is what many would see as a club within a club, the green fees being paid to Rodway Hill Golf Club Limited, and a separate payment of £35.00 a year to the members club to manage your handicap etc.

Our matches are played on weekdays, with other matches organised by the main club on weekends. You free to play in both sections.

We generally have Roll Ups on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings, starting at around 9am, tee off times can be confirmed with the shop, and are also posted on the seniors notice board.

In addition we have many other competitions, away days and interclub matches, to try and create a varied calendar, and as much good companionship as possible.

John M. Lewis.

Rodway Hill Golf Course was started in 1991 by local business man Mr Alan Price. In the early 90's he employed the services of a well known local architect Mr John Gabb.

Mr Gabb had the task of converting what looked like an open field at the time into a challenging golf course that would offer a test to even the best of golfers.

In 2003 the construction of the new much larger clubhouse was completed, this was a building to be proud of. This has allowed Rodway Hill Golf Course to create the best clubhouse in gloucestershire and an asset to any club.

2014/15 will see the introduction of accommodation on site which will add to the attraction for travelling golfers and people travelling to the area. Also in 2014/15 a brand new eco health club will be introduced creating a country club style venue which will benefit the local community and enhance the clubs facillities.

During the 1990's Alan Price and his business partner at the time were considered the pioneers in Pay & Play golfing. This lead to an influx of offers for construction and management of golf courses around the country.

In 1993 an opportunity came up for the development of a victorian country estate and farm into a hotel and golf course. Mr Price purchased the estate which included a Grand Manor House built by the famous british engineer Isombard Kingdom Brunel, Coach House, Gate House and a 60 acre farm with farm buildings all of which were in a terrible state. He then spent months constructing the golf course within the farmland and repairing the house. The Gate House was sold to the family that owned the manor and had been forced to sell. Now the site boasts the best 9 hole golf course in Plymouth and a fantastic Hotel. Check it out
